Pétanque Players Within PFA

PFA is committed to the effective development of players in the sport of petanque in Australia.  PFA is committed to supporting the development of the players at the club, state league, national and international levels. 

PFA has developed and provides a number of policies, rules, regulations, procedures, forms, guides and tools to assist players to confidently play pétanque in a threat-free environment.

To ensure their effective player development PFA has developed a set of programs to assist players to develop confidence and competence in the sport.  To consolidate any training, PFA has focused on developing a coaching framework to support players to achieve their desired level of playing competence.

Player Rules & Regulations

PFA is committed to developing and maintaining the highest standards of sports and business governance.  This commitment is consistent with its goal of recognition as a National Sporting Organisation and meeting the ASC Sporting Governance Guidelines. Policies, Rules, Regulations, Procedures, Forms, Guides and/or Tools have been developed to guide the players of member clubs, state leagues, in their participation in and enjoyment of the sport of petanque.


Developing Player Excellence

PFA has created a learning pathway for players in our sport. Each club will be able to provide development opportunities for their players to improve their playing skills. Players will have the opportunity to develop skills from Beginner to Representative Player. PFA coaches will conduct learning programs and coaching sessions to develop knowledge and understanding of the playing of the sport.  They will learn to perform the beginner, intermediate and advanced playing skills, tactics and strategies. Programs are available to develop players at the club level, at the state level and at the national level.
