Recent Notice from the International Petanque Body

COMMUNIQUE :

THE RUSSIAN AND BELARUSIAN FEDERATIONS SUSPENDED FROM THE FIPJP

Meeting urgently this morning by videoconference, in the presence of Mrs Olena Kolodiy, President of the Ukrainian Pétanque Federation, and Mr Mike Pegg, President of the European Pétanque Confederation, invited by the President, the FIPJP Executive Committee adopted the following resolutions, immediately enforceable:

Suspension of the Pétanque federations of Russia and Belarus

Exclusion of the athletes of these federations from all competitions until a normal and peaceful situation is re-established in Ukraine, starting with the World Championships in singles, doubles - Women's and Men's - and mixed doubles which will take place in Karlslunde (Denmark) from 11 to 15 May next; as well as the World Games scheduled in Birmingham (USA) from 7 to 17 July.

President Azéma was asked to inform the world and Olympic sports authorities of these decisions.
