Our condolences to the Leconte family. The following from Victorian Petanque League is a touching tribute.

"It is with Sadness that we regretfully announce the passing of Claudie Ple Leconte on Wednesday 4th January in France.

Claudie and her family Martial, Eric and Julie moved to Australia and became loyal members of the Melbourne Petanque Club at Middle Park in 1999.

Originally teaming up with her daughter Julie and then with other several players, Claudie rapidly developed into a fierce and passionate petanque player earning herself a number of state titles and representing Victoria a few times too.

Anyone having had the opportunity to play with or against Claudie has witnessed her utmost team spirit by always cheering on her teammates.

Claudie was well respected within the Victorian and National Petanque scene and we will miss her dearly.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this challenging time; Martial, Eric, Nadege, Julie, Michael, Hugo, Lola, Kaelan and  Myah."
