Petanque Australia (PA) is the national governing body for petanque in Australia, providing leadership and working with our leagues, clubs and players to support and grow the sport nationwide.

Petanque Australia is deeply saddened to acknowledge the passing of Raymond (Ray) Beaumont yesterday at his home in Adelaide.

Ray was a highly respected, long-serving leader in Australian petanque umpiring, serving as National Director of Umpiring for nine years.

His dedication to Australian petanque extended well beyond his national umpiring role. Through his leadership in umpiring and his service as a club president, Ray made a lasting contribution to our sport, earning the respect and appreciation of players, umpires and officials across Australia.

On behalf of the Board of Petanque Australia and the wider Australian petanque community, I extend our sincere condolences to Mäité, Pete and the Beaumont family at this sad time.

Ray's contribution to Australian petanque will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
